NÎMES - THE « SQUARE » HOUSE
This work is the only temple in the ancient world completely preserved. Completed in the year 2 of our era, it owes its exceptional state of conservation to a constant use over the centuries: consular house, stable, apartment, church and museum.
NÎMES - THE ARENAS
They were built at the end of the 1st century AD during which time the Romans occupied the city, on the model of the Coliseum in Rome. Shows are organized in the arenas such as bullfights, it is also possible to visit throughout the year these best preserved arenas in the world.
The Pont du Gard
This work is a remnant of the famous Roman aqueduct, was built under Emperor Claudius around 50 AD. It spans the Gardon river and ensures the continuity of the Roman aqueduct that led the water from Uzès to Nîmes, it is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
THE CAMARGUE AND ITS WIDE OPEN SPACES
The Camargue National Park and the wild beaches of Espiguette are just a 40-minute drive away as well as the walled town of Aigues-Mortes built in the 13th century; Montpellier Méditerranée airport is also equidistant.
